  • Prioritizing the natural scenery

    Prioritizing the natural scenery

Every space links to nature and its entire facilities are designed to impede the view from guest rooms, lobby, dining areas, and more as little as possible so that guests can fully enjoy the scenery of Unzen National Park and truly feel the changing of the four seasons. The color tones and lights in the hotel are also dimmed so that the vivid nature can be better seen.In addition, the colors and design of the exterior create a sense of coexistence with the nature of Unzen.

  • Prioritizing the regionality

    Prioritizing the regionality

We actively procure ingredients that we take pride in, grown in Unzen, Nagasaki, and Kyushu, to offer guests the allure of local food. Most of the furniture in the hotel is made in Kyushu. Eating utensils are primarily produced in Nagasaki Prefecture and Kyushu, and our food is centered on seasonal ingredients from Unzen and the Shimabara Peninsula. Our souvenir shop also features a selection of primarily local products.

  • Prioritizing the benefits of hot springs

Prioritizing the benefits of hot springs

All our baths use water that flows directly from the source so that guests can fully enjoy the wonderful effects of the sulfur hot springs of Unzen. The Dai Kyokan Jigoku hot spring, which sends up dense clouds of steam right in front of the ryokan, is the source of our onsen water.

A Japanese garden
with the nature of Unzen as a backdrop,
conveying the beauty of each season.

Practically unchanged since its establishment in 1929, this Japanese garden carries a range of beautiful expressions.
Our own specialist gardener carefully maintains the garden so that our guests can fully experience the changing scenery of the seasons. With 3 Unzen Jigoku areas and our beautiful Kyushu Azalea—an original cultivar that is over 90 years old—at the center, wild plants from the Unzen National Park are also grown in the garden, highlighting the garden’s elegance. Enjoy the best Japanese garden in Unzen.

Lighting throughout the hotel and in guest rooms is dimmed for the guests to better feel the allure of Unzen’s scenery overflowing with nature.
